Center Our Center

5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. – 1 Timothy 2:5-6

May we never get over Jesus. It has been my experience that with our scheduled lives and Sunday services, we can nearly crowd out our Lord. Yet, when we place Him at His right place at the center (honestly, He is already there, it is just our recognization of Him), our lives and Churches explode.

Seems easy right?

Calvin talked about how our hearts are idol factories. We have no shortage of things to pull us away from Christ-centric living. Many times, these things have the hint of something good. It is good to be organized. It is good to be busy at times. Yet, when there is little space for Jesus, or if we attempt to package Him in a certain more “relevant” way, then we restrain Him and make no mistake, Jesus cannot be held back. His Spirit moves when hearts are fully surrendered and Sunday’s are fully His.

He is your mediator

He is your ransom

He stands in the gap between what you are and what you could be. He is the difference. Don’t let the things of this world be your mediator. When they fail, He still stands in victory.
