It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night (Psalm 92:1-2)
How you spend the bookends of your day matters. Our morning sets the pace for the day while it is difficult to change the tempo midday. While our nights compress and summarize the events that shaped the last few hours. Faithfulness is born here. How would our day be different if we thought of the love of the Father when we woke up? Could we possibly live with an expectant urgency to see how He creatively loved us through the daylight?
There is an unmatched beauty in the stillness of the night. The loud chaos that runs our days laid to rest as we find ourselves a brief reprieve. How sweet the rest we would find in the still faithfulness of our Lord.
Today, however the brevity, shade your daily corners with the love and faithfulness of the divine. Do not merely settle for the voice of the day, but let the voice of God guide your steps. Praise and give thanks to the captain of the 24.
