10 Irreverent Things to be Thankful For

#10 Neil Diamond – Yes, the guy who brought us “Sweet Caroline” is a national treasure and I will fight you if you disagree.

#9 Facebook – Is there a better way to find out how that guy you met at that one thing voted? What if you wanted to figure out which Game of Thrones character you are? Such things matter. Also, babies and cats . . .

#8 Bigfoot – You think will all the science and resources we have in this great century, we would have found him, but no. Translation: he could be in the Everglades somewhere. . . or RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!! The elusive beast will always haunt my dreams. Thank you “Unsolved Mysteries” re-runs.Image result for Unsolved mysteries big foot

# 7 Coffee Baristas – Yes, these noble heroes float on mostly unnoticed in our fast paced society, but without their selfless caffeinated service, our country would screech to a halt. God bless you and your fashionable scarf and ironic glasses. You are too beautiful for this world.

#6 Die Hard – Perhaps the first and last great Bruce Willis movie is both the greatest action movie as well as the greatest holiday movie. Also, it yet again proves the acting chops of Family Matters alum Carl Winslow.

#5 People Who Start Sentences With “No Offense but . . .” – Get ready to be offended without having any recourse to act offended. These people are verbal ninjas.

# 4 Sports Side-Line Reporters – How else would you know that the players need to make the “proper adjustments in the second half”? These overdressed troubadours make every sporting event a little more sporty.

# 3 Queso – What’s better than cheese? Melted cheese. End of story. Unless you have a dairy allergy.

#2 Almond Milk – I don’t know how they make you, but I appreciate how you help my poor non-queso eating friends. Sure, you taste nothing like milk and have absolutely no flavor, but the sentiment is nice.

#1 YOU! – The fact you are still reading shows that you actually read the non-sense I write. As a writer, there is complete overtaking of warmth when something you put out there is consumed in any manner. You are what I am most thankful for. Thank you for giving me a much needed outlet!
