The Daily Mind Reset

1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. – Colossians 3:1-4

Where is your daily vision? In the bustling minute to rushing minute, do you ever lift your head out of the trees to see the forrest? It is no exaggeration to say that where your mind is rooted the most, will influence the direction and mood of any given day. I heard a teacher recently say that when our minds are honestly set to the things above, we see circumstances as builders and not necessarily destroyers. Many will say there is “victory” in Christ, but what does this look like? Could it be that in the daily circumstances which seem to pin and conquer us, we have a victory in coming out build stronger and with a greater relationship to our Father? This is no doubt a bitter pill while you are dredging through the mud, but one that will lift your heart if you let it.

In the daily grind we find ourselves in, it is ever helpful to remember this grander vision. If you are like me, you constantly have to remind yourself of your faith. I mean, ask me at any moment and I am sure to point back to Jesus in some fashion. Yet practically, how this plays out daily, is another matter all together and one that takes a mature saint to grasp. When the Gospel becomes practical, when it becomes livable, that is when something of beautiful intention happens. Most of us fall too short of this, settling instead for a more patriotic philosophy that looks better on a ballot than a heart.

Today, look onward. There is something bigger happening behind the struggle. You’re loved, wanted, and being refined. Don’t give up
