6 For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. 7 He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. – Psalms 112:6-7
To live is to await bad news. We know it’s coming, but when it does, we are completely blindsided. The righteous are to be admired for how they model the art of how to deal with such news. I rather look up to he who’s heart is steady than he who knows the proper religious language and cliche. For he who lives in the shadow of the steady has truly walked with the God of bruises and valleys.
And this has not been me. I want to have that granite spiritual backbone, but I’m not quite there yet. This is a person of great faith. This is a man or woman that sees grace outlasting the evil in this world. In the truest sense, they are realists for they live in God’s reality. They can properly frame yesterday’s defeats with the adhesive of God’s redemptive plan.
Today, don’t panic. Bad news comes but grace is forever.
Very nice, Matty.
