30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. (Matthew 6:30-32)
When Jesus comes back, how much faith will He find in His children?
“O you of little faith” Faith and surrender are impossible to untangle because of their reliance on each other. Faith is merely surrendering to the circumstances refined by our Lord. It is knowing that for every negative in this life, He is alive, working the outcome for our favor and His glory.
“your heavenly Father knows that you need them all” This is faith. Knowing that He knows what we need. His outcomes will rarely look like what we desire but when we trust in His merciful hand, we can surrender to His creative ends. In this trust, we are free to thrive. The circumstances of this life blind us to this fact. They twist and pollute our hearts in thinking every contrary thought hidden in the gospel of this world.
Today, meditate on the courageous faith we can have in a Father who loves us. Align your fickle heart to our stable God.
Lord, I surrender my heart to you. Have your way with my days and give me the faith I need. Today is yours. Teach and humble me for your Kingdom.
