It’s All About Jesus

5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus – 1 Timothy 2:5

One survey of the current state of the world will undoubtedly show a disconnect between us and God – between the ideal and the practical. We can assume by the condition of man, this chasm is our doing. Typically, it is the offender that reaches out to the offended in a way of ushering in peace. Yet, because of the “wholly other” nature of God, man finds this impossible.

This is the revolutionary act of Jesus.

Recently I have been thinking of this great incarnation. To think that God came down to take the form of us is counter intuitive to say the least. He put Himself in the place of the offender in a courageous act of empathy. He held back His divinity for a taste of a flawed humanity, making a way through sin and death. As Christ people, we are to never get over the acts of Jesus. The richness of His movement in this world should always be as fresh as the first time we heard it. It should carry the same joy as the first time we accepted it.

Do you remember when you first loved the lover of souls?

Can you recall the newness of the newness of life?

In this sinful existence, every minute will stand in opposition of such great a truth. Every wave of circumstance will attempt to carry you from the grasp of our loving creator. Every day is a battle for grace. So fight on. Today, don’t let the darkness choke out the light. Don’t settle for anything short of the mediation of Christ. He is here, in the flesh, as much now as then. Let Him scream through the skin of circumstance.
