Your Story Matters

15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. 17 Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!  – 1 Peter 3:15-17

What’s your story? As Christ followers we are called to be storytellers. When events happen in our lives, we connect it back to our faith. In this, we are not only narrators but eternal connectors, bringing the world to Jesus and vice versa. So the question we must ask is:

What story are we telling?

There are times in life where Jesus seems hidden. Our faith becomes dry or stagnant and we are called to dig deeper in faith. Surely He is behind the scenes and in our midst, we simply have to reach out in obedience and love.

Perhaps my favorite thing about being in ministry is hearing these stories. They are not all seemingly miraculous or drastic; sometimes it is simply a moment of “getting it”. Yet, there is something incredibly healing to the weary soul in these stories of every day grace. Your story matters. As you look for God in this daily grind, share what you find with those around you.

May your story bring life to others. May it refresh many.
