Last Night At WR Was Special

23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Tell of his salvation from day to day.
24 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
25 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and he is to be feared above all gods. –
1 Chronicles 16:23-25

Last night was one of those moments of grace God gives you in perfect time. Holding our monthly night of prayer and reflection, the standard schedule of events took a beautiful detour. One by one, testimony was shared of God’s ridiculous movement in the lives of His people. Leading more than a few “testimony” times in my life I have seen a short burst of two or three before the room goes silent. Yet, for once, we failed to have enough time for all of the ways God is intersecting in the lives of His Church.

Being in ministry can be discouraging. You work to foster an environment that welcomes both God and man and often wonder where both are. Many of us get into ministry because we want to see God do the remarkable and the unexplainable. In times of drought, we look back on nights like these. Hearts once far, now close. Minds once closed, now open. The lavish favor of God on His people. These are the moments we pray for. These are why we so foolishly entered into ministry. We gladly exchange recognition, merit, and money for a spot on the frontline of changed lives.

And so this is why you matter. No longer can we be silent. No longer can we rob God of due praise. When He acts, we praise in both our hearts and within our family. Praise begets praise. The more we celebrate God, the more we see that which is worthy of celebration. Don’t keep your story, for it was never yours to keep. God uses our faith intersections to make deeper disciples.
