“I Am The Way, Truth, And Life” Day 3

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” (John 14:6-7)

The Truth

The name of Jesus evokes many things. Any pastor will tell of the uncomfortable reactions received when strangers realize what they do for a living. Many wrongly believe it is simply about behavior and will change their speech or apologize for not going to church more regularly. This is uncomfortable for both parties involved.

Perhaps the greatest weapon in the arsenal of the enemy is how he has been able to distort the identity of our Lord into the opposite of who He truly is. The fruit of this false identity is evident: guilt, silence, and discomfort. The identity of Jesus as Truth goes past some cold religious philosophy and to the heart of every woman and man. It is crucial we focus on His true identity outlined in Scripture, allowing the Spirit to open our eyes and hearts. Only then will we be able to free ourselves from the false God of culture. As representatives of this Truth we fight patiently for the God we know because He is worth it. It is only His Truth that breaks through the facade of guilt and condemnation.

May we project the God of Truth to the world around us.

Lord, restore our vision of you. May we see the Truth of your identity and give us the opportunity to share that with others.
