“I Am The Way, Truth, And Life” Day 2

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” (John 14:6-7)

“The Way”

Perhaps the biggest question in life is that of direction. “Which way should I go?” Many times we desire to know our calling and which path to follow. And while these have good intentions behind them, mainly to follow Christ, we must remember that God provides a compass, not a map. The ever perfect navigator, our creator points of direction but gives us the freedom to proceed in our redeemed passion as we wish. When we step in obedience, we can trust our passions for they are His.

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another (John 13:34)

Walk in love. Augustine tells us to love God first, then do what we wish out of that love. Be aware of any theology that restricts the freedom God grants us. As our steps are aligned with His through love and prayer, we are given the freedom that comes with being a beloved child of a gracious Father.

The Way is not a direction, but a person

Lord thank you for the freedom purchased at the cross for us. Teach us to move with courage as we align our steps to yours.
