6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:6-7)
There may not be a more powerful set of words than he cares about you. Let that soak in. When the saint fully grabs hold of this spiritual truth, they walk in confidence through the trials and anxieties of this life. If He cares for you, then you can trust Him with your troubles. But this takes great humility.
Humble yourselves under the mighty power of God
Any time we read Scripture, it is crucial we examine it’s context. The Bible is spiritual dynamite that can only be fully effective when you understand such things. It takes true humility to trust the often unseen God with the worries that bind us. The enemy wants you to believe in your own ability to handle life. However, God wants you to be fully aware of your ineptitude in handling the daily concerns of living. In this humility is reliance, and in reliance we see the power of God fully unleashed.
Give ALL your worries . . .
Our Lord is jealous. He wants all of you, all of the time. This includes your junk. Your level of spiritual maturity will always be in direct conflict with the amount you hold back.
Today, humble yourself in knowing He alone is God, then surrender all you have with the confidence of someone deeply cared for. The God of the universe has deep affection for you.
