7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. 9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:7-9
The question is not if you will have a bad day; the question is when. The walls of this life constrict and expand with every breath. It is important on the bad days to remember the spirit imbued to you. While culture is often blinded by fear, we have something entirely different. We have Christ and His strength is welded into our very being. This was the same spirit that Paul clung to in prison while supernaturally being able to thrive. This power was bought for us at the cross and made perfect through grace.
It is said that those who have a compelling why can survive any what. As saints, do we not have the most legitimate and dynamic why available? Our why is Christ and we are able to conquer any what in His name alone. We have astounding clarity in the condition of this world, for all He has said has rang true. And as we are able to trust Him above this world, we can trust Him in our trials. That our bad days may be turned on their head and bring our Savior glory – this is our gift. While God is not the one to give us struggle, He is sure to use our struggles for something incredible. Our Christ is in the redemption business.
Today, you are strong because He is strong. In His grace, sin is defeated. Walk in confidence in this promise.
