Netflix and God’s Timing

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

Can I be honest with you? Many times when there is a difficult work to do, I put it off. In those moments of stress, Netflix is far more appealing than what needs done. As I speak, there are phone calls to be returned and sermons to create, yet reruns of Frasier seem to be foremost in my mind. I have the feeling that I am not alone in this. We want what we want now and often put off what we don’t want until the very last moment. But thankfully, our Lord is not into Netflix. He is trustworthy enough to meet the needs of the saints simultaneously and without delay.

At some point in our faith, we must have the realization that He alone is trustworthy. Today will bring struggles and compounded conflict, and this if we are not careful will rob us from recognizing God in our thoughts. When the valleys of life come, take hold of your thoughts. Believe in the truth of this passage. God will not leave or abandon you when you are in need. Regardless of how your situation looks, He is fighting for you and will continue to do so. Expand the definition of victory in your mind. Know that His ways will assuredly look peculiar to us in comparison to the way we often live.

Do you feel His work in you?
