Break From the Fear Cycle

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever   (Psalm 125:1)

How do you define sterngth? For many, we live by a Darwinian philosophy of “might makes right”. The loudest voice, the speaker with the most gusto, gets celebrated. We are afraid of looking weak or unsure. It is this style of life that has started wars, ruined relationships, and elected presidents.

Fear. Those who can make the masses fear, exude false strength. It is “us” and “them” language that both divides while it unites. It is no coincidence then that Jesus speaks strongly against fear.

Godly strength that is embodied in our Lord is confident, quiet, and yes, strong. Jesus was perfectly tempered in his anger and meekness. Might was never his first response. Christ saturated strength is found in submission – a holy trust in someone greater.

You have nothing to prove. You are strong because He is strong. Today, trust in Him. He is worth it.
