Recently Echo High had the opportunity to have a guest speaker. Rocco is a senior at Twinsburg High and has an incredible heart for Christ. Sure I love teaching, but I love discipleship more. Having a teen teach his/her peers is powerful. Over the last four years at Western Reserve I have learned that the loudest voice in a teen’s life is other teens. They are the pace setters. I have been asking how we can better unleash teens to do ministry and challenge each other. We see this with Jesus. He spent a lot of time pouring into guys like Peter and John who then went out and poured into their own “spheres of influence”. Teens will be won for the Lord from other teens who are sold out for Christ.
This generation is special. I know that each generation says this but there is something different today. They crave authenticity in a world that is not. They long for Truth in a world of lies. In a fog of uncertainty and instability, they crave a place of safety. By God’s grace we are building this into our culture at Reserve Students.
Teens are the torch bearers of our faith. The Church is their’s. Pray for God to grab their hearts today.
